There were a number of amazing shots of these large planes operating in close proximity to the ground. I was impressed with the piloting skills.
(These three pictures below were an attempt to take a picture of framed photos we saw on the wall. They turned out very fuzzy.)
The first photo is Tanker 68 (a DC-6) dropping a retardant load on a fire. Sorry about the blur. If you look closely, you can see a twin-engine Beech Baron in front and below Tanker 68. That is the "lead plane" that the bomber follows in on the bombing pass.
The next two are of Tanker 66 making a very steep run at a fire.
